Beta Testing

Muse Hub lets you preview and test your changes with groups of invited users before publishing your content to the wider platform.

Beta testing is a crucial part of the QA process. For Muse Hub, it provides an opportunity to ensure your product functions as expected and is presented as desired. This step is essential before submitting the product for content review, preparing it for general release.

Setting up Beta Groups

The Beta Testing section of the Partner Portal allows you to set up multiple beta groups. You can then add or invite testers via their registered Muse Hub email addresses and assign them to these groups. Next, associate the groups with individual products.

Example

  1. Click the Beta Testing menu item on the sidebar.

  2. Select the Groups tab.

  3. Add a new group, named "Beta Testers".

Adding Beta Testers

To add testers, navigate to the "Testers" tab and click "+ Add" to enter their email addresses. Once added, select the checkbox beside their emails, choose "Add to groups" from the action bar, select the "Beta Testers" group we created, and click "Save". Now, assign this group to a product.

Admin users of the Partner Portal are automatically included in any beta test and do not need to add themselves to a beta test group.

Adding beta groups to products.

  1. Navigate to the product you want to enable for the beta test.

  2. Select the "Beta Testing" tab.

  3. Choose the Beta Test group from the dropdown menu.

  4. Click "Add Group".

Benefits

  • Easy Tester Management: Add new testers to the group, and they will automatically have access to all products assigned to that group.

  • Flexible Access: Create a global beta testers group with access to all products, or special groups for specific products.

  • Full Control: Assign a tester to multiple beta groups as needed.

Publishing to beta status

Once you're ready to turn your draft product page into a beta product, select "Beta" as the release state, and click submit. There is no review stage for beta products, so after a minute or two, you should be able to log in to the Muse Hub app with your account credentials. Navigate to the Library tab in the sidebar to find a Beta Testing section containing your beta products.

Downloading Beta products

Beta testers you've invited can find the beta product in their Library tab. They can download and install the product for free.

Beta products and versions are hidden from the Hub for non-beta testers and won't appear in search results or dynamic page listings.
